PCS PPM FAQ's
PPM rates will be different this year than previous years, please prepare in advance.
If your move is set up in MilMove you will already see the new rates for your PPM.
If your move is set up in DPS, you will see the lower rates take effect May 14, they are expected to be published in the system the week of April 21st 2025.
The amount reimbursed is the amount based on your actual weight, distance and market lane.
The incentive payment for PPM's is considered income and is taxable.
When it is paid out to you, it will be taxed by 25%, so prepare for that.
Your approved operating costs (AOC) (i.e. -packing material, truck rental, labor, moving company, etc) can lower the taxable amount of the incentive payment, get with the finance office to discuss your this breakdown more in depth.
You can claim expenses for your move on taxes. Anything that is not paid/reimbursed can be claimed on your taxes for that year.
If you use your weight allowance to get your estimate and you move less, you will be paid less.
You must set up your move online using either the new GHC system (MilMove) or what's known as the legacy system (DPS).
Storage (SIT) is billed, and handled separate, meaning you will need two invoices- This is how the finance office handles it.
